Moving Forward.

I am happy to report that God has been answering our prayers! One of our prayers is that God would add 10 new families to our church. We haven’t hit ten yet but added four in just the past month! I look forward to checking off that answered prayer box soon. We also have unity in our church like never before. We had a very difficult first year but I am pleased to report that Lord has pulled us through. June will mark one year of pastoring for us. The year ahead will look much different than the year behind us. Unity and health, and the blessing of God, will propel our church forward.

Power of Prayer

I am convinced of God’s blessing upon us because I know the power of prayer. God will move heaven and earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are loyal to Him, to answer the prayers of His people who cry out to Him. This is an indisputable fact of scripture.

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him…

2 Chronicles 16:9

We can be confident in God’s blessing when we purify our hearts and seek him wholeheartedly in prayer. Of course, this does not mean that times will be easy. It just means that, when the dust settles, God will bring us out victorious. God doesn’t tell us that He might answer our prayers, but that if we pray earnestly, and don’t give up, the answer will come:

…men always ought to pray and not lose heart…

Luke 18:1

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

James 5:16

Prayer has always been priority number one for me. I know how weak I am, and that I lack greatly. I know that I cannot lead a church effectively unless I have the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore I do my best to seek His council and blessing as much as possible. I also enlist the help of others in prayer, praying together for God to move in our midst. Each Tuesday our church holds prayer service. It had not been well attended in days gone by. However, I am pleased to report that we had the most people to date this past Tuesday. Our prayers, together, will bring a great affect.

The Chaffee Family

The children have been doing very well. They all have finished school for the year. Katee, Spencer, and Anders all received the Christian Character Award for their class. Halle also received many accolades, receiving top GPA in many subjects. I’m convinced she would have also received the Christian Character Award if her grade level offered it. She has a tender heart for the Lord. She helps in the nursery at the church (Katee, too) and cuts the lawn with me! Elmer and Roger are getting big and both of them love to pray. Only the Lord can understand what they are saying.

Please continue to pray for us. We are still believing God to provide us with a new home. We are also believing for the finances to pay for it! We know that God will bring us the right place at the right time. Also, pray for the church, for ideas for outreach, for financial increase, and, most importantly, for revival.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. We look forward to sharing many more good things in the days to come.
