2 Tim 2:1 “My child, find your source of strength in the kindness of Christ Jesus.”
Strength is something that we definitely need as christians. There is so much to weigh us down. I always find my strength in God. “Let the source of you strength be in the kindness (or grace) of Jesus Christ.” That’s awesome. God’s strength is so wonderful. Whenever I am feeling weak, I can be strong. I love the passage of scripture in Isaiah:
“He gives strength to those who grow tired and increases the strength of those who are weak. 30 Even young people grow tired and become weary, and young men will stumble and fall. 31 Yet, the strength of those who wait with hope in the LORD will be renewed. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and won’t become weary. They will walk and won’t grow tired.” – Isaiah 40:29
I’ve found this to be very true. When I take time to wait on God, then my strength is renewed. I feel like I could run through a troop or jump over a wall. I need this strength on an everyday basis. Especially since I work with teenagers. Teenagers can be unforgiving, especially when the subject matter is controversial. You’d better know what you’re talking about. Sometimes I’m very intimidated when I walk into a school to speak on the subject of abstinence. Without fail, each time I feel that way, it’s because I haven’t taken time to renew my strength before the Lord. I’m only good with his strength. But when I’ve taken genuine time with God, I am confident. I’m am strong enough on the inside to stand up to any challenge. It’s not because I’m strong in myself, but only because I’ve taken time to remind myself and convince myself that God is with me. You see, God never forsakes us. We just forget He’s there.
