“Blessed are those that do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14
Oh, blessed are they that do the commandments of God! And what are His commandments? Are they grevious commandments? No! His yoke is easy and his burden light, and His commandment is to love. ‘Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.’
What a blessing it is to serve God! His commandments are wonderful. The 119th Psalm talks about His commandments. In fact every verse in the entire psalm has some reference to His word. David talks about how much he loves His commandments. “How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!.” (v 103)
God’s commandment is everlasting life! Jesus said, “I know that His commandment is life everlasting.” Glory to God! All of God’s commands are come so we can have life! Eternal life! Abundant life! Jesus said, “I have come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.”
And not just abundant life on this earth, but a life beyond imagination in heaven, were we can drink from the pure river that flows from the throne of God. And we can eat from the tree of life and live in beauty and health for ever and ever. Glory to God!
