What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is being preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice. Phil 1:18
There are so many christians who spend so much time criticizing preachers that they don’t agree with. Yet the bible tells us that Paul rejoices even over preachers that preach ‘not sincerely,’ but from ‘envy, strife, selfish ambition, and in pretense.’ (See Phil 1:15-18)
How could Paul say that?
He’s saying that, not because he wants preachers that are selfish, but because in his mind, even if it isn’t done sincerely, Christ is still being preached, and that’s better than Christ not being preached at all!
Now, I’m not saying that we shouldn’t address errors that come out of the pulpit. We should. But we shouldn’t be doing it with such an angry spirit. As long as this other preacher is preaching salvation through the death and bodily resurrection of Christ alone, we should rejoice! We can then lovingly show those in our sphere of influence what we believe the Word says. God can take care of the others.
It seems some what odd!! to say , that I agree. how ever I think if this were the case, we should be looking for a diffrent preacher, to replace Pastor Wrong,
Good job, enjoyed it
BILL God bless all.
